An Additional Place of Business (APOB) is any extra location on your GSTIN where you conduct business — for Amazon sellers, that's the FBA fulfilment centre holding your stock. To use FBA in a state, you need a GSTIN there with the centre added as an APOB.
The two pieces: VPOB + APOB
- VPOB: a virtual place of business — your registered address in the state (the principal place for that GSTIN).
- APOB: the Amazon fulfilment centre, added as an additional place on that same GSTIN.
