Importing stock or exporting products? You need an IEC — and a virtual office address works for it. Here's the how.
The Import Export Code (IEC) is a one-time registration required to import or export commercially in India. It's issued by the DGFT and linked to your PAN and business address — and a virtual office address is acceptable.
Importing is a chain: get the IEC, register GST where you'll store stock, and understand your landed cost with the Import Duty Calculator. Remember import IGST is creditable.
